Dr. Marina Ainciburu
University of Limerick
Research interests: Bioinformatics, Malignant Haematology, Health Data Research, Cancer Research
Marina holds a PhD in biomedicine from Universidad de Navarra, Spain, titled 'The Application of single cell transcriptomics to characterize the progression of hematopoietic cells to myeloid malignancies'. During her PhD Marina focused on the analysis of transcriptomics and epigenomics data in hematological malignancies. She gained valuable experience in analysis and results interpretation of integrated data types. She also completed a 6-month stay at the prestigious Dr. van Galen laboratory (Brigham and Women´s hospital, Harvard Medical School), developing a pipeline for the analysis of single cell TCR sequencing and applying it to the study of rare hematological malignancies.
Marina worked as a Research Fellow at the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT), where she was developing analysis methods for different modalities of omics data. She has established pipelines for the analysis of data modalities newly established in the lab, such as long read RNA sequencing and RNA modifications.
